11/20/2012 0 Comments Intercession TuesdayPrayer Wall in The Sanctuary. As we gather in The Sanctuary on Intercession Tuesday we come ready to offer a prayer of thanksgiving and honor. It is only befitting as we approach Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving should be a time to look back over the year to remember exactly what God delivered us from, has brought us through, how he has provided daily and met our every need. It is time to gather with those you love to express gratitude. In gratitude, we humbly reflect upon all the gifts that fill our lives (family, friends and health). To gather in unity is refreshing and invigorating especially when people come together in celebration of a common purpose. It is a time of reconciliation of differences as well as a time of healing. In sharing our victories as well as our struggles, we find strength and hope. And by “giving-thanks” we choose to extend ourselves and give to others less fortunate. Out of the abundance of our hearts, we are able to offer our resources to help others. But the fundamental meaning of Thanksgiving is to praise to God, the one who provided and delivered. In the Bible, the meaning of thanksgiving reflected adoration, sacrifice, praise, or an offering. Thanksgiving was a grateful language to God as an act of worship. The true meaning of Thanksgiving focuses upon relationship between God and man. Thanksgiving begins with acknowledging God as faithful, earnestly giving Him thanks for His abundant blessings. Thanksgiving is an attitude of the heart that reinforces an intimate relationship with God. So as we enter The Sanctuary today let us enter singing praises of thanksgiving to our one true God for his overflowing abundant blessings. ◊Intercession Prayer◊ Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus, my Lord, and my Savior. I come to you with heart of thanksgiving. I thank you for all the good things in my life, for You are the Creator of all things good. Father, I thank you for your presence. For in your presence is the fullness of my joy and in your presence I am complete and whole. With you Father I have purpose. Because of your presence, I am glad to be here. Father, I thank you for your plan, that I might have a full life and enjoy it and have it in abundance to overflowing. Father, I thank you for the provision, that all my needs are met according to Your riches in glory. You stated in your word that I may prosper in all areas of my life just as my soul prospers and Dear Lord your word has shown true in my life. As I reflect over 2012 you have protected, guided and provided for me. No weaponformed against me prospered and with my whole heart I thank you for your protection. Thank you for being shelter and strong tower from the enemy and for being what the word says, my Jehovah Jireh, my provider, as there was not a day that I went hungry. I thank you for the overflowing of blessings. I have no choice but to sing praises unto Your name as for without you there is no me. Oh God, I thank you for your abiding love, grace and mercy as they have kept me and my family. Now Father, help me to not look so intently on the gifts that you have given that I no longer seek your face. Help me not to cling to my blessings so tightly that I cannot open my hands to give to others or even receive more from you. Help me not to fear that if I give, you won’t be able to replenish what I lack. Help me to continue to trust your sufficiency, your abundance. Heavenly Father, thank you that all of Your blessings will continue to come upon me if I continue to hear and obey your voice. I bless you and praise your Holy Name for all that you have blessed me with Lord. I pray Father that your goodness and mercy continue to follow me every day of my life according to Psalms 23:6. I recognize by faith that You are worthy of all honor, praise and worship as the Creator and Sustainer and end of all things. I will sing your praises to the ends of the earth. And to thank you Father for all that you have done for me I commit on this day my total allegiance to You. I commit to doing your work, your will and obeying you. I give my permission, my life and all that is in it, as a living sacrifice, unto You which is my reasonable service for all that you have done for me. Thank you Lord for all that you have done and I bless You and all your works in my life. In Jesus Name I pray and to God be the glory and honor. Amen.
