The Verdict is in..

"And those whom He has pre-destined He also has called; and those whom He has called He has also declared free from guilt; and those whom He has declared free from guilt He has also crowned with glory." - Romans 8:30

I bet like most of us you have grown up hearing the elders of the church say “the end is near, and these are the signs of the times”. And, if your past remotely resembled that of over 80% of Americans; then you were probably praying that what they were saying had more truth then not. Because you had been through so much; and the enemy had convinced you that it wasn’t going to get any better and you were worthless. There are some of you who are still going through your own storms and you’re asking God when will it end, haven’t I been through enough, or maybe what did I do to deserve this? And now you have emotionally checked out, and you’re at the verge of throwing in the towel.

Her Story

I would like to encourage you on today by telling you about a young  lady I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. I won’t bore you with a long dissertation about her life.  But I will reference a few important life altering events that she had to face, and how she overcame them. As a child this young lady encountered physical, sexual, and emotional abuse at the hands of the ones she loved. Having no one to turn to she sought shelter within herself. She barely spoke to people hoping that her silence would make her invisible to the world. But, due to the way she decided to cope with her abuse; unknowingly she had begun to contribute to her own demise. She realized this one day while outside surrounded by a crowd of familiar faces, but yet she felt like a stranger. Because she had decided to engage in idol conversation with her peers, she quickly became the “butt” of everyone’s jokes due to her speech impediment. Then she started to feel even more inadequate and worthless, but life’s hits for her did not stop there. As an adult she battled cancer, a sleeping disorder, failed relationships; amongst other things. The enemy had an assignment over her life that he was determine to fulfill, but God.

But God

Everything this young lady touched seemed to tarnish right in front of her eyes. Her pain seemed to have no end in sight, and life was becoming hard to bare. The thought of getting out of bed to face the day had become paralyzing to the mere marrow of her bones. I would like to confess that I too know how she felt, because this young lady that I speak of was me. But I’m no longer held captive under the snares of the enemy, because the Father has set me free. I made a choice one day to live and not die.

So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free.
(John 8:36)

If you are going through your own struggles right now and the enemy has tried to convince you that there is no end in sight, I invite you to say this payer along with me.

  Enter into Prayer

Heavenly Father I come to you as humble as I know how, asking that you will change the things concerning my life. That you will pour into me a Spirit of BOLDNESS like Goliath, and a FAITH in You that is unwavering. I relinquish all ownership to my past, and today I will allow You to create a new thing in me. I surrender all! I thank You for what You are doing, what You have done, and most importantly what You are going to do. In Jesus name I pray.

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you. Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:11 -13) Amen!

Opening up doors that no Man can shut!

Picture

Are you the person that everyone sees as loud and obnoxious? No matter how good your intentions are people are easily convinced otherwise? Or maybe every time a situation erupts people automatically assume you were the mastermind behind it all? Well, if your answer my questions were yes, it is not a coincidence that you’re going through your house of terror right now, and behind every door lurks the same enemy just a different storm. But, I am writing today to tell you that you are not alone.

Scenario

There is a conflict amongst two coworkers within the Department of Global Development:

Team A and Team B were given projects to fulfill by months end. Amber was appointed Subject Matter Expert (SME) for team A, and Terry was the SME for Team B. Bridgett a highly qualified Specialist in the department was selected to be part of the project, and she was placed on Team A. When Amber received the rooster for her team; she was upset when she discovered that Bridgett was part of the project not to mention a part of her team. So, she quickly launched a plan to eliminate Bridgett (Operation Destroy Bridgett), and the lying and manipulation began. Amber sat down with upper management to allocate every team member a job function within the project. And, of course she assigned Bridgett to take on what she thought would be the most difficult task of all. She implemented obstacles that would have a negative impact on Bridgett’s performance. After while Amber began to tear Bridgett down, while Bridgett was assisting her with task outside of her role to help build her up.

Becoming aware of the Issue

Once Bridgett became aware of what Amber was doing she reported her to upper management. And, she started speaking up whenever she recognized that Amber was trying to sabotage her work. Amber never became confrontational, and she held her composure while amongst others in the department. But meanwhile, Amber was still doing everything that she could to ruin Bridgett behind closed doors with the power of the pen. Bridgett started to be viewed by management as insubordinate and a complainer. After receiving wise spiritual counsel, Bridgett had a better understanding of what the enemy was trying to do. So she was determined now more than ever that she had to be the light in the midst of darkness.

Resolve

Bridgett made the decision to no longer do Amber’s work and Amber's work performance suffered. The findings and error rates from Amber’s audits reflected that. But, no matter what Amber tried to do to cover up her inability to do her own job, the weekly reports told the truth. And eventually all of the underhanded tactics that Amber was using against Bridgett as well as other staff was unveiled; and she was terminated from the company. Bridgett also moved on to a better career opportunity. This is a true story, but some of the names and details have been altered, but I stand with a spirit of boldness when I tell you that God can turn any situation around in your favor. He can open up doors that no man can shut, and the doors He opens no man will be able to shut it!

Enter into Prayer

I pray for everyone who is going through their own storms, and it feels like the enemy is lurking behind every door. My prayer is that you will relinquish your entitlement to resolving your own problems, and allow God to do the work. I declare not in your own strength, but in His. You will allow The Father to show you that He is still The God that sits on High and rules down low. That He is able to remove people, places, and things that would be a hindrance to His people in the Kingdom. And, that He will direct your steps and that you would enter into the soundest peace. I pray that your soul will find comfort in the midst of the storm and that you walk by faith and not by sight. I claim that it is already getting better; The Father is already moving on your behalf in Jesus name I pray. Amen!!

How do you choose ?

Picture
"You shall not need to fight in this battle;  take your positions, stand still, and see the deliverance of the Lord [Who is] with you, O Judah and Jerusalem.  not nor be dismayed."  - 2 Chronicles 20:17
How do you choose which child to protect when the offended and the offender are both your seeds?  As a child I grew up feeling abandoned by my mother, most of my close family members, and even the world.  I felt like my only true love was my twin. I was physically and sexually abused by family members, stripped of my innocence and self-worth at a very young age. A more accurate assessment would be to say that I was left ignorant of my own self worth.  Feeling like my own mother didn't even love me. But, as I intentionally digested every heart felt word of my loving sister posted via social media, I was torn, by my own cypher of emotions.  Because as a child I didn't connect emotionally or physically with my mother. Even her delivery of the word of God fell on death ears with me, because of past abuse.

So as I was getting ready to start my day today; I realized that God was preparing me for a new day.  He begun to bombard me with internal questions like: was I wrong for feeling hurt, abandoned, lost, confused, angry, and undesired?  And, because He is not a God of confusion He replied by saying the following: No, you were not wrong for how you felt as a child.  Because your hurt and pain was real, but remember when you were a child you thought as a child and you reasoned as a child.  But now that you are an adult you must think as an adult and reason as an adult, and discard all of your childish ways. (1 Corinthians 13:11)

Instantly I was given revelation "hurt people, hurt people". My mother was abused as a child so her relationship with her mother was one of broken communication, due to a past of physical and sexual abuse. And, because we mimic what we know, I tend to be the overbearing, over protective, insensitive mother at times, in an effort to protect my babies from being harmed.  In my own self absorbed, narcissistic way, I've convinced myself that I'm their first line of defense.  If they wanted to get to them they would have to come through the Mother.  And, by doing this I've unknowingly and unwillingly caused them harm. I've squeezed the life out of them. And, just like my mother this WAS the only way I knew how to show them that I LOVE them to LIFE by taking their life learned experiences from them. And I would become hurt and upset when I felt that they didn't appreciate my motherly deeds. So, I now realize that she loved me the only way she knew how. And for that I love her, and I truly appreciate her efforts. Because many mothers won't dare to even try to troubleshoot this thing called parenting.

So, today enter into prayer with me as I go to the Father standing in the gap and intercede for every mother and father who's troubleshooting this thing called parenting. Who's repeating the patterns of past generations because it's familiar.   I'm pleading to the Father to break the cycle of generational curses, and to allow His Will to be done, and to allow us to love fear like He loves, to forgive like He gives, and to help us to see ourselves through His eyes. I pray that He will give us the strength to put down our weapons for good, and to never return back to them.  And that we will hand it all over to Him our dear God.  In Jesus name I pray.

Break the Cycle

Picture

If you are like me, I am sure that you have often wondered what you are doing on earth and how long you would continue on this path of aimless wandering. You know deep inside you that you have more to offer and more to get from this life; and sometimes you are frustrated because of it. All you need is a glimpse of your future! I want you to understand the reason why you have been going through the things you have been going through in your life; its because the enemy has gotten a glimpse of your purpose.  And, decided to devise a plot to destroy your life before you were born. This plot many times has come through generationally.

For instance, your mother may have been abused as a child. It is proven that child abuse can have damaging effects not only on the children who suffer it, but also on communities, and family members that must address the aftermath of abuse. Children who experience child abuse and neglect are 59% more likely to be arrested as a juvenile, 28% more likely to be arrested as an adult, and 30% more likely to commit violence crime (National Survey of Child and Adolescent Well-being).

Maybe, your father never knew his father. Statistically, a child in a single-parent household is far more likely to experience violence, commit suicide, continue a cycle of poverty, become drug dependent, commit a crime or perform below his peers in education. Men who grew up without a positive male influence in the home are more likely to neglect their own children, and so the cycle continues.

This is not a coincidence or some strange freak of nature. The enemy is literally after your family inheritance. And, he is doing everything that he can to subdue you, and cause you to become weary in well doing. But you have been saying to yourself: I can’t go on. But I know personally that you can, because I have. And it’s because I have held on to the promises of a loving and protective Father that has promised to fight for me and for you, but you must hold your peace and remain at rest. (Exodus 14:14) He has a purpose for everything that we encounter in this life. He never does or allows anything without having a definite reason for it. His actions are well calculated and born out of love. His word never goes forth out of His mouth and returns to Him void, without accomplishing what He set it out to do. It will surely prosper in the very thing for which He sent it. (Isaiah 55:11). And since God made you, He has a purpose for making you. Today, enter into prayer and cry out to God for a picture of your future. It is the solution to your uncertainty in life. Only our Father can tell you the truth about your tomorrow because He made you and He is the Alpha and Omega. Call on Him. He is certain to hear you.

Enter into Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I pray the release from condemnation over my life. Father, I pray to no longer be a victim of sexual, emotional and verbal abuse. I pray for healing. I pray for deep comfort. I pray that you will restore what has been stolen and broken. What seems hopelessly shattered in me I believe by faith you can redeem me. I stand in the gap for the many souls who have been defiled in sexual abuse, show yourself to be loving and able – to give them back life, an life abundant.

Yes, there is great pain in this world. There is injustice. There is evil. But I turn to you and cry out for help and healing. I sometimes wonder why such horrible abuse happens. But I turn from “why?” and ask instead, “how?” How will your perfect goodness and love find glory in the shadow of wickedness. Father, you are good, loving and all powerful. I know that you can bring restoration from the vile and evil doings of those called to protect and care for me. I ask you for grace and healing. I pray for you to tenderly and with overwhelming and powerful love, to restore me back to life. Today I  asked to be freed from  suffering and that no weapons formed against you shall prosper.  Satan I serve you notice your powers are unless inefficient and inoperative in my life. That which was meant to hurt, harm, and destroy me, will serve for a greater purpose and glory. Father, in  Your Son Jesus name I decree it; I declare. Amen

Shut up! The Shepherd is speaking.

Picture
If you are like me, your mind is constantly analyzing, assessing, deciding, working every moment of every day. Sometimes its hard for me to sit down and shut up – to be silent – yet I know I must. Especially if I am to discern God’s will for me and this ministry.  It is with difficulty, I make every attempt at being silent and listening to God, especially every Tuesday afternoon and when I do I always seem to have a lot to say to God, and I fail at letting Him get a word in edgewise when I pray. I pour my heart out to Him in prayer, and I try to listen to my Father so that He can speak to my heart. But sometimes He doesn’t get much of a chance with me jabbering away.

I have learned that shutting my mouth and sitting in silence is a virtue. It is in this silence that we hear to integrate what we hear our Father is saying into our being. He speaks to us in several different ways. Perhaps it is through a passage from Scripture. Perhaps it is through the voice of a loved one. Perhaps He speaks directly to your heart in prayer, giving you His peace. Perhaps it is via a whisper as you sit silently. But do we hear?

God is speaking, the problem is that sometimes we're just not very good listeners. Although God speaks again and again, no one pays attention to what He says. He has been saying the same thing to us and showing us the same thing over and over again but we just aren't getting it. God is speaking to believers, young and old, and non-believers from all walks of life.  God is pouring out of His Spirit in prayer to believers for direction, correction, confirmation, peace, intercession, warning, prophesying to others and calls to ministry; to the non-believer to draw them to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." (Revelation 3:22)

Are you ready to listen?

Many times we miss out on hearing God’s voice because we don’t know how He speaks. —but we know from scripture that His voice is that of a loving, kind and devoted Shepherd. Commit with me today to meditate to hear His voice. Sit down, shut up and take the time to listen because He desires that we hear His Voice not only today but always.

Enter into The Sanctuary to pray and meditate!

Heavenly Father,

I come to You now in the name of my Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Holy Spirit I pray that You will quicken me to hear my Heavenly Father’s Voice and lead me in prayer. Heavenly Father, I bow and worship before You. I come to You with praise and thanksgiving.  I come to you in humility, in fear and in trembling and seeking truth. I come to you in gratitude and love as you are the Lord and Shepherd over my life. It is written in your word according to John chapter 10 that Your sheep know Your Voice. Dear Shepherd, I am one of your sheep. I ask You to teach me to her Your Voice distinctly and clearly according to John chapter 10. I ask you increase Your anointing on me to clearly hear and know Your Voice and not that of a stranger. Today, I repent for not listening to your Voice and turning a deaf ear.  No longer will I stray from your voice. Dear Shepherd I declare on this day that when you speak, I will listen. I surrender my heart and mind to your Voice. I ask that You do this in the name of Jesus Christ. Give me the ability my Good Shepherd to hear your Voice , I ask this according to your word that says that whatsoever I ask for in your name you will give it to me. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen!

Break The Curse!

Picture
Have you ever seen a family where the father has a problem with uncontrollable anger, his son seems to have been handed the same issue, and the grandfather had the same problem? Or have you noticed that not only do you suffer from something such as persistent irrational fears or depression, but your mother and her father also suffered from it as well? This is beyond learned behavior; many children learn to be messy if their parents are messy. This is a spiritual bondage that is passed down from one generation to another and is considered a generational curse.

Some symptoms of a generational curse is a continual negative pattern of something being handed down from generation to generation. Often people who are adopted end up with the same characteristics as their birth parents, not because they were around their birth parents to learn the behavior  but because they inherited their spiritual bondage. Some common symptoms of generational curses are family illnesses that seem to just go from one person down to the next , continual financial difficulties, mental problems, and depression. Anything that seems to be a persistent struggle or problem that was handed down from one generation to another may very well be a generational curse. There are other things that can seem like generational curses, but aren't. Perhaps the most common is if there is an ungodly soul tie formed between you and one of your ancestors, that can also allow for the transferring of spirits.

Generational curses are many times are triggered by an opened door in our life. It's important that we clear up any legal grounds or strongholds that we have given the enemy in your own life relating to the bondage. Unforgiveness is a great way to trigger generational spirits. Unforgiveness is a serious sin that blocks the forgiveness of your own sins (Matthew 6:15), which creates ample grounds for the enemy in our life. Unforgiveness in itself puts us into the enemy's hands (Matthew 18:23-35).

The good news is that once you accept Jesus, the transference of bondage stops from your ancestors by means of generational curses. You can no longer receive spiritual bondages in this manner from your parents once you accept Jesus! Christ came as a curse to free us from the curses that sin (both our sins and those of our forefathers) has brought us. Galatians 3:13 says, "But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” Once you become a child of God, no longer will the sins of your forefathers cause curses to transfer into your life. So how you deal with a spirit that has entered through a generational curse is very simple, Mark 16:17 says that, "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…" We know that our generational curses have been broken in Jesus' name, but we still need to verbally confess cast out and renounce these curses, because there's power in our verbal confessions and prayer, and it helps us to realize that we are set free, and also lets the enemy know that he's in trouble!

Pray to Break the Generational Curse.

Heavenly Father, I come to You now in the Name of my Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that You are the Son of God; that You died on the cross for my sins; that God raised You from the dead and You ascended to heaven. Heavenly Father, I  repent of any sins in my life and my ancestors’ lives, going back 25 generations, that have resulted in a curse or curses on me, or on my family. I repent of all and any sins of: not keeping Your commandments: having other gods before You; making or buying images, bowing down to or serving images; for taking the Lord my God’s Name in vain; not honoring my father and/or mother; murder; adultery; stealing; bearing false witness; coveting a neighbor’s spouse, house, land, or anything that is my neighbor’s; not loving You with all my heart, with all my soul, and with all my mind; not loving my neighbor as myself, or not loving myself. I ask Your forgiveness and cleansing through the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father, I repent of all of my  sins and I thank You for forgiving me .

Father I now ask You in the Name of Your Son Jesus, to destroy all curses, generational curses that have been placed on me, my spouse, and my children, including ten generations. Lord Jesus, Your Word says that Your anointing breaks and destroys all yokes of bondage so I ask You now to cause Your anointing to break and destroy any yokes of bondages; along with all their works, roots, fruits, tentacles, seeds and links, in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. In the name of Jesus, and by the power of His blood, I now renounce, break and sever all curses that have been handed down to me from my ancestors. In the name of Jesus, I now loose myself and my future generations from any bondages passed down to me from my ancestors! I renounce and reject these things in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and I loose every wrong attitude, pattern of thinking, belief, idea, desire, behavior and habit I have ever learned. I loose the strongholds around them that would keep me from being completely surrendered to the will of God for my life. I loose all doubt and confusion from myself. I have bound my mind to the mind of Christ and I loose every wrong thought and evil imagination that will keep me from being in unity with You. I believe in Your miracle working power to restore and heal me. I bind and loose these things in the Name of Jesus Christ, who has given me the keys to do so. Amen!

Thank You Father

Picture
It is very important that we are thankful to the Lord for the many blessings that He bestows upon our life. Many times we are quick to forget the good things that God has given us and tend to think more about the trouble and heartache that life sometimes brings.

When we say, "Thanks" what do we mean by it? Well, it is an expression of appreciation, isn't it? Shouldn't we appreciate God? Shouldn't we tell Him so? Saying, "Thanks," is making known that person's value to you. You do not thank people who are not valuable to you. Saying "Thanks," is gratitude, told to another dear to you, usually. Why not God? Isn't He the dearest of all?

The Bible reminds us that ungodly people do not give thanks unto God. This is a characteristic of the ungodly. In Romans 1:21 we read, "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened." And they went progressively down, until they worshipped idols, became fools, worshipped animals and beasts, and, God finally gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts. That is a tragic thing. Why? Because they did not honor God as God and they were not thankful. It is characteristic of the ungodly that they never say to God, "Thank You for all that You are to me, for giving me life and all the good things that are in life." Ungodly people do not glorify Him as God, neither are they thankful. But godly people do give thanks to God. They are thankful, according to God's Word.

It is the will of God in Christ Jesus is to give thanks to God in everything, every believer should know why we should give thanks and be grateful all the time. Gratitude is a feeling of thankfulness and appreciation of everything the Almighty God is doing in our daily life. It is an act that allows what we desire to flow into our experience. Make saying thank you to your higher power an integral part of your day – many find that the daily practice of counting your blessings pays dividends and brings great rewards.
Enter in to say "Thank You Father"
Dear Father God, I am thankful for this day; for this is the day that You have made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. I am thankful for the Blood of Jesus, knowing it cleanses us from all unrighteousness according to 1 John 1:9 and allows us to come boldly to the throne of grace according to Hebrews 4:16. I am thankful for the power in the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth to protect, cleanse, heal, deliver, sanctify, redeem, justify, and to make all things new.

Heavenly Father, I am thankful for so many things. I am thankful that Your Word is true and established in heaven according to Matthew 24:35; that Your mercy endures forever according to Psalms 118:1; that Your grace is sufficient for us according to 2 Corinthians 12:9. I am thankful for Your angels and for Your protection according to Psalms 91; for Your salvation. That our names are written in the lamb’s book of life according to Revelation 21:27; that everyone in our households are saved according to Acts 16:31. I am thankful for Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for Your peace which passes all understanding according to Philippians 4:7. Thank You for every battle and every problem we face, knowing that the battle is an opportunity to cause our revelation knowledge parts (pebbles) to become one solid rock that the gates of hell can’t prevail against us. Each and every battle is an opportunity for us to take root so we can bear fruit. We know that the trying of our faith turns into patience, causing us to form into perfect men and women, wanting nothing. Thank You that we can ask You for whatever we will and as long as we are connected to the vine, we have the petitions we ask for. Thank You for Your provisions as You supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory. Thank You for divine prosperity. Thank You for Your healing, past, present, and future as You are Jehovah Rophe. Thank You for divine health. Thank You for physical and spiritual hearing, seeing, feeling, smelling, and tasting. Thank You for the sun, moon, stars, trees, grass, air, water, plants, flowers, animals, mountains, valleys and all the other wonderful things You created for us yet we so often take for granted.

Thank You Heavenly Father for Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for being present with us always. Thank You for the gifts of the Spirit: The word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, workings of miracles, prophesy, discerning of spirits. Thank You for the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control according to Galatians 5:22. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You for being the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace according to Isaiah 9:6; The Way, The Truth, The Life according to John 14:6; The Light according to John 8:12; The Door according to John 10:9; The Bread of Life according to John 6:35; The Good Shepherd according to John 10:11; The Redeemer according to Psalms 78:35; The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords according to Revelations 19:16. Heavenly Father, I praise and thank You for everything You have done, for everything You are doing, and for everything You are going to do. I bless You Lord. Amen.

Three Cords, Not Quickly Broken

Picture
Marriage has been a "trending" topic as of late. This most sacred union, marriage, has become a negative term and hotbed topic in our culture and society.  We no longer look at marriage with anticipation and joy, but with fear. People are scared that if they get married then there is the possibility of getting divorced. No, marriage does not guarantee a lifelong relationship, but neither does any relationship. Marriage was designed to be a lifelong relationship, a commitment and a covenant. The only reason it is not is because we have made it that way. We too often look for any easy way out. If we feel unhappy, then just leave. If you feel unfulfilled, then leave. If your husband makes you mad, you can just leave.

My parents were married for over 20 years and divorced when I was eighteen. My husband and I have been married this month for 11 years. Surviving my parents divorce, 11 years of marriage and 21 years of a relationship I must say I have seen the good and bad side of marraige. It's not easy to maintain or survive a marriage during the difficult times, especially in our society.  I know the only way we have survived the ebbs and flows of this journey called marriage is because we have a third person in this marriage with us.

I know first-hand the dangers of weak commitment in marriage.  After my husband and I were newly married, we would throw the big "D" and "S" word around.  I made choices and decisions that threatened the covenant of my marriage because of my attitude, insecurities and because I felt as though I was lost in this relationship. But we had to decide if  we wanted to be married and if we did then divorce and separation was not an option. And working it out has not been an easy road. I went into surgery to battle issues with my fertility twice since we have been together, losing two grandfathers, a father and an aunt in the span of four years.  In between all of this there were job losses, which brought on money problems, confusion, miscommunication and interference from unwanted life situations. But through it all I have had to remember that I love him and I vowed to sustain through all of the good and bad times. I know that we could not have remained together without our third cord, God. I really don't know how some do it without Christ. He has become the center of our home, and in those days that we could really could hurt each other,  The Spirit act as the umpire and we have no choice but to see each other through His eyes.

Hence, the key to surviving is seeing marriage and each other through God's eyes, hearing each other with God's ears, lifting each other with God's hands, encouraging each other with God's Words, and loving each other with God's heart.  Marriage is about choosing each day, each minute, to honor God with our words and actions, and in turn, we honor our spouse. Marriage was created by God for our good, for the good of our society, and for His plan to be fulfilled. It’s about companionship, pleasure, responsibility, commitment, romance, raising the next generation—the whole package. It’s the most difficult and yet the most fulfilling relationship we experience during our time on earth. And that’s why it’s worth fighting for. So, today on this Intercession Tuesday I want us to pray for marriages and ask our Savior to refresh, restore and revive these unions. Let's speak life to release the awesome power of God as He works to restore, strengthen, and heal marriages so that this most  holy union is not overpowered and broken.
"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands
is not quickly broken." - Ecclesiastes 4:12

Enter into Prayer

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you that you will hear my prayer, for I come on the authority of your Word. I pray and confess your Word over my marriage and as I do, I use my faith, believing that Your Word will come to pass. I stand in the gap for my spouse against the devil and demons until the salvation of God is manifested in his or her life. I confess that we will let all bitterness, indignation, wrath, rage, bad temper, resentment, abuse, evil speaking, malice, spite, ill will be banished from us. I pray that we have become helpful, kind, tenderhearted, compassionate, understanding, responsible, forgiving readily and freely as You Father, forgave me. I ask Lord that they and we walk in love, esteeming and delighting one another as Christ loved us and gave Himself up as a sacrificial offering so that I could become a sweet fragrance.

Satan, I render you helpless in your activities in our lives. I come against the spirit of separation and divorce, and loose you from your assignment against them. Your power is broken from our marriage in the name of Jesus. Lord, I come before you humbly asking that you heal what is broken is this marriage. I rebuke the plans of the enemy to keep this family from being together. We know that satan comes to steal, kill and destroy but we stand firm and confident knowing that he has no power over You Lord Jesus. I pray deliverance from this present evil by the Son of the Living God and whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

Help us to submit one to another as we submit ourselves to You. Heavenly may I remain self-controlled, sober minded, faithful, disciplined, because I love my spouse and my children and I commit myself to them. I pray that we are free from rejection and low self-esteem. Heavenly Father, I thank You that I will be constantly renewed in the spirit, in my mind, having fresh mental and spiritual attitude. Thank You, Father, for hearing my prayer as we strive for the love of God to reign supreme in our home, and for the peace of God to acts as a umpire in all situations. We know that with you in the center as the third cord, our union shall not be broken. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. May our family know that You are Lord over our spirit, body and soul and we ask all these things in your matchless name, Jesus Christ. Amen.

You Are a Conqueror, Pick Up Your Sword

Picture
For the past three years, I have been working faithfully to bring to fruition the vision that the Father has placed in my womb. In those three years, I have experienced many strategies of warfare to hinder the birth of this God vision. I have learned very quickly that the enemy will use thoughts and arguments but especially people (friend and foe) to distract us from our assignment. In my dealings with others, I have realized those that are focused on the greater assignment as I have experienced this same level of spiritual warfare. And I think what most of us forget during these challenging times is that we are not powerless in these situations. We have a weapon that we seldom use but is sure to bring victory and  that is "the sword of the spirit which is the word of God"( Ephesians 6:17)

A sword is an unmistakable weapon of offense. No doubt that it can also be used as a tool for defense. This however is no ordinary sword. This sword is made of the Spirit and the Word. In spiritual warfare the battles are fought with Words. Not carnal words which I was used to using very well, as my words in anger have been known to cut deep and wound the flesh. These Words that I speak of are packed and backed up with the Spirit of God. And God's Word is truth, plain and simple. We can have perfect confidence in the fact that His Words are accurate, true and inerrant. When followed, they guide us without fail in the paths that we need to walk and will win the battles we need to win as they cannot return to us void. His Word must complete what they were sent to do. There is no enemy the Word of God, coupled with His Spirit, cannot defeat. And so, armed only with our sword, we step out to fight our enemies head-on. The struggle is real. It is immediate, and it is in front of us. Our future in God's Kingdom is on the line, and we take up the battle so that we may hold fast to the future He has promised us. We fight knowing the end of the story and stand on one of the many powerful and sure promises in God's Word tell us: But he who endures to the end shall be saved. (Matthew 24:13)

What a  powerful and sure promise in God's Word, it tell us that if we remain dedicated, steadfast and unmovable to God and His Word, we will make it to the end, and we will be saved to bring to Glory to the Kingdom. I am a living witness to this statement. So take up your sword and strike with confidence that you shall be more than a conqueror through Him that loves you!

Enter In To Pray The Word
Heavenly Father,

I now put in each of our hands the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, which we choose to use against all forces of evil. I declare that we defeat the enemy with the Word of God as the Spirit of God leads us according to Revelation 19:11-16. I thank You that You are OUR AUTHORITY, JESUS and THE LORD OF HOSTS, JEHOVAH SABBOATH. I now take the Sword of the Spirit and use the authority that God has ordained me with according to Luke 9:1, for we have been given power and authority over all the devils and demons, to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy according to Luke 10:19.

Heavenly Father, as we go out today, let us recognize You as Jehovah Sabaoth, we will not fear, for You have called us by name, we are Yours. When we pass through the waters, You will be with us, and through the rivers, they will not overtake us. When we walk through the fire, we will not be burned, neither will the flame kindle upon us according to Isaiah 43:1-2. We will not be dismayed, for You are our God according to Isaiah 41:10. We will wait upon You Lord and You will renew our strength. We will mount up with wings as eagles. We will run and not be weary. We will walk and not faint according to Isaiah 40:31. We will not be afraid or dismayed by reason of the great multitude. The battle is not ours but Yours according to II Chronicles 20:15. You are on our side; therefore we will fear no man according to Psalms 118:6. When the enemy comes in like a flood, Your Spirit will lift up a standard against him according to Isaiah 59:19. You did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind according to 2 Timothy 1:7. Greater is Jesus in us than any demon, devil, fallen angel, evil force, power, principality, and rulers of darkness, spiritual wickedness, satan, and those under him. Greater is Jesus in us than the devil is in the world according to I John 4:4. Greater is Jesus in us than all our circumstances and all our reasoning. Therefore, we follow You Jesus.
You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy. We will abide in Your tabernacle forever; we will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Preserve my our lives from fear of the enemy in Your Son Jesus Matchless Name, Amen!

PUSH!

Picture
I wrote the following on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2014, and posted it to Facebook. At the time when I wrote this, I was excited about the wonderful things that I knew were coming to me in 2015.

When you know you're better than the life you've accepted, and unwilling to settle for mediocrity you begin to strive for something more. After all, anything that's not growing is dead. When the people around you refuse to push you and refuse to push themselves, you have to be the catalyst for your own change. Sometimes its like pushing a boulder up a hill. It could take a while to see progress and you might get run over. But you never stop. You get right behind that boulder and push some more. Some people, the ones who like the boulder where its been and don't understand where you're going or why you want to move it, will get in the way. They may try to push back. Sometimes the pushing you do will push them right out of your path. The strong ones, the good ones, will see the vision, see the good and join you. These people are few and far between, but you'll find them along the journey. The thing is you have to start pushing, even if no one joins you.

You'll develop muscles along the way, strength you've never had, you'll have to make tough decisions on which direction to go, you'll find companions, you'll lose a few who get tired of pushing, some will find their own boulders to push, and you'll pass many who just sit on top of theirs watching you work. You might take a rest, and get back at it, but you never stop.

I want to be pushed and challenged, I think the people who really love me inspire me in this way. Don't accept my foolishness, my excuses, my laziness, call me on it. If I love you, if I care and I see you're making a mistake, I'll do the same for you. Call me a nag, call me a bother, call me irritating if you like. You should be worried when I stop pushing, because then I've lost all hope for you, and refuse to waste my energy and time pushing dead weight. Granted some people don't want to be pushed, and I've learned to just leave them alone. 2015 I'll be pushing like never before, some people I can't take with me, some will go their own way, some will even try to hold me back. But to the few who have pushed me this far, I'll help you push yours, help me push mine.

Since writing this article, I can't explain how my circle of support has changed. The people that now surround me are strong, motivated, and determined. Never making excuses and never allowing me to make excuses either. I've grown tremendously in my career, I've lost weight, committed to a healthier diet and exercise routine, and just relaunched one of my businesses. It's amazing how we attract people and success into our lives just by our thoughts, words and actions. I feel the love and positive energy around me, and I've grown muscles in areas that I was weak. I thank God that I wrote it down, to read those words, and to see the changes and growth just mid way through the year gives me such hope for my future. It's never too late to PUSH!

Pray Until Something Happens
Father, thank you for the gift of friendship. Lord, where I have made poor choices with whom I have allowed into my inner circle, help me to reconcile those situations. Guide me with your wisdom. Proverbs 18:24 says, "But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” So Father, where I am lacking true relationship, would you grace me with a deepened friendship anchored in you. Give me courage to step out of my comfort zone and embrace the gift of friendship again. Teach me to "guard my heart” so that I can guard my hearts in friendships. True friendship is a gift from God. So I desire to be wise about who I allow into my inner circle — the circle of friends closest to me. Just as Jesus enjoyed an intimate relationship with Peter, James, and John, I pray to be surrounded by "A friend that loves at all times!" (Proverbs 17:17) and that is willing to walk through the valleys and is overjoyed to experience the mountaintop with me.

I ask that you open my eyes to all my close relationships! Help me to see them clearly, whether good or bad, pleasing or not pleasing to you that may bring glory to you! Surround me Father with those who have an intimate relationship with you so that they see me with your eyes and love me with your heart, as a friend listens not only to our words but also to our heart. I commit Father to returning to the gift of friendship and relationship. We will praise each other when times are good or bad. We will stand together in praise even when we do not understand why we are praising Him. We will pray and praise regardless of what we see in each other lives. We will pray and praise together because we know that with You, whatever is best for us will happen because we both love God and are called according to His purpose. We will have faith even when we do not see the outcome because we know your divine plan will avail.

I thank you Father in advance for surrounding me with those who love me enough to lay down their lives, as I know there is no greater love. (John 15:13) It is a wondrous blessing that you are now surrounding me with those who are willing to push me through the valley and to the highest mountain because they believe Your promises in my life.

    Intercession

Prayer is the expression of man’s dependence upon God and his confidence in Him. When God answers prayer, He magnifies His faithfulness. Prayer is releasing the energies of God and asking God to do what we cannot do. Prayer is the breathing and panting of the Spirit after God. Prayer is a soul struggle. It is the hardest work God has given His children, but it is their most important work.

    Each Tuesday in
The Sanctuary we set aside time for intercession. We pray that you are able to gain strength and comfort from our time of Intercession.
