6/25/2013 0 Comments God Provides…Trust That! There was nothing I could not ask my earthly Father for that he would not go through hell and earth to provide for me. I knew early on in life that he committed to being a provider of my spiritual and physical needs and whatever I asked I could trust that he would move heaven and earth to provide it. And this is the same kind of trust we should have in Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. When we accepted Him into our hearts we become a child of God. One who is both born and adopted into the family of God. As such, we become the recipients of God’s personal care as a loving heavenly Father. As children of God, all believers become the personal responsibility of an all wise, sovereign, and all powerful God, who, as a heavenly Father, cares in an infinite way for each one of His children. Since God is concerned for each of us as His redeemed children, the Apostle Paul assures us this concern certainly extends to our basic daily needs (but not our greed). The Apostle wrote, “And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians. 4:19). This promise was made in connection with the financial support the Philippians had sent to Paul for his missionary ministry. He was assuring them that their giving would never be their lack. God would supply their needs, and the reason for His supply, was nothing less than “His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Governing God’s provision is nothing short of the wealth of what God has done for us in Christ. And as members of God’s family, all believers have direct access to God as their heavenly Father through their Great High Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ. While God knows our needs before we ask, and is intimately concerned, we are, nevertheless, to take our needs and those of others to God’s throne of grace in prayer. Prayer is where we confess sin, give thanks and praise to God, and make our needs known to our Heavenly Father in specific requests. But our greatest need is to be conformed into the image of God’s Son, the Lord Jesus. The Lord promises that God, as a father kind of God, will not give us a stone if we ask for bread, nor a snake if we ask for a fish. In His perfect love and wisdom, He only knows how to give what is best to us. Today on this Intercession Tuesday, let's enter His throne to pray to our Jehovah Jireh, who is the Lord that provides. INTERCESSORY PRAYERFather, I come to You now in the Name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father, I pray with thanksgiving! I ask You to give me divine healing now in every area of my life, spirit, mind, will, emotions and physical being in accordance with Your Divine Plan and Order for my life. I receive Your Divine Healing, Wholeness and Newness of life, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Lord, I ask You to expand in me Your territories. Lord I ask for and receive beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness: for I am a tree of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that You may be glorified, in Jesus’ Name. My prayer Lord, is that your Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Heavenly Father, I ask you to give me the manifestation of every miracle and every healing You have for me and the manifestation of divine healing and divine health in my body. I will commit to earnestly remember You the Lord my God, for it is You who gives me the power to get wealth, that I may establish Your covenant which You swore to my forefathers. (Duet. 8:18) Your word says that a good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children and the wealth of the sinner finds its way into the hands of the righteous for whom it was laid up. (Prov. 13:22). I know that wealth and provision is in my hand and I know that you are my God and you will liberally supply (fill to the fullest) my every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:19). For You said that you would prosper me and that I would be in good health even as my souls prosper. (3 John 2) For You Lord God are a sun and shield; and you bestow present grace and favor and future glory, honor, splendor and heavenly bliss! No good thing will you withhold from me if I walk uprightly according to Psalm 84:11 and I commit to being obedient and walking upright to your Word.

6/18/2013 0 Comments Lord, I Need Your Help![]() When I woke Monday morning these were my exact words, "Lord, I need your help". Life is a little overwhelming in the Douthit house. We have a tremendous amount of goings on and Monday was the culmination of my fustration with life and instead of just crying, I found myself crying out to God for help. Are you at that point of being beyond fustrated? Are there hurts and burdens that have you weighed down? Have you been trying to fix a situation with no real solution? Weary, tired and need some help today? Psalm 18:6 says, “In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help....” King David was much better at this than I am. He had a habit of crying out to God for help when he was in distress. Barnes’ Notes on the Bible Commentary tells us that in Psalm 18:6, “‘In my distress’ refers, most probably, not to any particular case, but rather indicates, David's, general habit of mind, that when he was in deep distress and danger he had uniformly called upon the Lord, and had found him ready to help.” God is real, and when you trust in Him as David did, He promises to be with you and help you. Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Let Him share your burdens and reveal His purpose for you. Turn to Him today. Prayer and praise acknowledges that Jesus Christ is your Lord, Savior and Provider. Many of us live a life full of prideful self reliance and stubbornness and never receive anything from the Lord. When you call out and come to the Lord Jesus Christ with a need, you are glorifying Him and lifting up His name to all the earth. He will pour out His power, peace, love upon you and answer your needs! Enter into Intercession to recieve your help. INTECESSORY PRAYERHeavenly Father, I ask You to lead me in paths of righteousness for Your Name’s Sake. I Bless You, Praise You, Worship You, and commit all that I am to You, and that Your perfect Will be done through me. I ask that You cause me to enter into Your Rest now, in Jesus’ Name and that I receive rest. I ask You to release my warring and ministering angels to minister and to war on my behalf. I ask you to fill this, Your temple; with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to bear the cross You have prepared for me and help those in my family. I ask that the Holy Spirit speak to my heart through Your Word. I come to You with reverence and worship, and with humility through Your Holy Spirit. I ask that when I read Your Word that it would be engrafted into me and become part of me; spirit, mind, will and emotions. I declare by Your power; You are helping and causing me to be bold, dauntless, fearless, confident, steadfast, faithful, true and loyal for Your Name’s Sake. 6/11/2013 0 Comments Hearing the Voice of God![]() Many Christian believers do not believe that they can or do hear God’s Voice. Jesus says in John 10 verse 14, that He is the Good Shepherd and that He knows His sheep and His sheep know Him. In John 10:27 Jesus said, My sheep hear My Voice and I know them and they follow Me. If you are one of the Lord Jesus’ sheep, you should know His voice. He is not a respecter of persons. According to Isaiah 58:11 it says that He will lead and guide us through our lives. Psalms 32:8 says that He will instruct us with a loving eye the way that we should go. However, I don't think the issue is if God is speaking but it's with us who are not hearing. The first thing we need to do is fix our ears. We need to believe that God is already speaking and start listening. However, that takes time, effort, and focus. The average Christian's lifestyle is so busy, it isn't conducive to hearing God's voice. For instance, what is your typical answer to the question, "How are you?" Many of you probably answer something about being very busy. All of us seem to be busier than ever, and that's one of the BIG reasons we don't hear the voice of the Lord better. We're just too busy. Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still, and know that I am God." It's in stillness, not busyness, that we tune our spiritual ears to hear the voice of God. The Lord always speaks to us in that "still, small voice" (1 Kings 19:12), but often it's drowned out amid all the turmoil of our daily lives. The other issue that prevents us from hearing God clearly is that there are other voices whispering into our ears as well. In fact, there are three voices that we can hear -- the voice of God, the voice of our own fleshly desires, and the voice of the Adversary. But Jesus tells us in John 10:4 and 5, "...and the sheep follow Him, for they know His voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers." The writer of Hebrews tells us that we can train our ear to recognize the voice of God above all the noise. "But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil" (Hebrews 5:14). It is by practicing, using our spiritual ear, that we are able to discern whether what we hear is of God, our flesh, or the Adversary. Today on this Intercession Tuesday make a decision to hear His Voice like some of His other sheep do. I believe that if you want to hear God’s Voice and if you pray the following prayer, He will honor your prayer and teach you to hear His Voice. I remember the first time I heard His Voice, it changed my life. Intercessory PrayerHeavenly Father, I come to You now in the Name of my Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Holy Spirit I pray that You will quicken me to hear my Heavenly Father’s Voice and lead me in prayer. Heavenly Father, I bow and worship before You. I come to You with praise and with thanksgiving. I come to You in humility, in fear, and in trembling and seeking truth. I come to You in gratitude, in love, and through the precious Blood of Your Son Jesus Christ of Nazareth. ![]() Affirming God’s Word over yourself and others is crucial because it speaks life into your spirit, body and soul. Affirmation Prayer is a way of entering into prayer. It takes the example of Our Lord at prayer drawn from the accounts in the Gospels. In John 17:8, Jesus says to his Father in prayer: "For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them." In Affirmation Prayer we listen to these "words" and indeed to the One who "gave" them — for the Lord Jesus is himself the Word behind the words and is the Word within the words. The word "to affirm" means to strengthen, to endorse, to assert as true, to declare support for. It always expresses a relationship between the speaker and what is affirmed. Also, there is always a confidence and positiveness in the act of affirming. In Affirmation Prayer we humbly seek to affirm God, but in the process we ourselves are also affirmed. We proclaim with confidence and joy our total belief in and love of God using His own inspired Scriptures. It is a demonstration of unlimited expressions of faith, trust, dependence and love. As we offer these to God, we are strengthened, empowered, built up in our most Holy Faith, and equipped to interface with an unbelieving world. In Affirmation Prayer we demonstrate an intense desire to listen to Jesus Christ the Word of God and to become wholly united with him: to abide in him. On this Intercession, take to heart the forthcoming scriptures and you will understand the importance of speaking out loud all or some of the following scriptures over yourself every day. If you speak negative over yourself and others, you are speaking the words of the enemy and those words will hold you in bondage. Faith comes more quickly when you hear yourself quoting, speaking, and saying the things God said. You will more readily receive God’s Word into your spirit by hearing yourself say it OUT LOUD everyday than if you hear someone else say it. Hearing yourself speak the Word of God out loud everyday for thirty days will change your life. “So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God” ~ Romans 10:17. Affirming Prayer✤ I recognize in faith that God has proven His love to me in sending His Son to die in my place, whereby every provision has already been made for my past, present, and future needs through His representative work whereby I have been quickened, raised, seated with Christ in the heavenlies and anointed with the Holy Spirit according to Romans 5:6-11; 8:28-39. Choose all or some of the affirmations that speak to your life and command the day with an Affirmation Prayer.
