7/30/2014 0 Comments HELP!![]() When I woke Monday morning these were my exact words, "Lord, Help". I guess I could have been singing a rendition of Erica Campbell of the popular gospel duo Mary Mary, song "Help". You see life is a little hectic in the Douthit house. We have a tremendous amount of "things" going on and Monday was the culmination of it all and instead of just crying, I found myself crying out to God for help. Are you at that point of being beyond frustrated? Are there hurts and burdens that have you weighed down? Have you been trying to fix a situation with no real solution? Weary, tired and need some help today? Psalm 18:6 says, “In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help....” King David was much better at this than I am. He had a habit of crying out to God for help when he was in distress. Barnes’ Notes on the Bible Commentary tells us that in Psalm 18:6, “‘In my distress’ refers, most probably, not to any particular case, but rather indicates, David's, general habit of mind, that when he was in deep distress and danger he had uniformly called upon the Lord, and had found him ready to help.” God is real, and when you trust in Him as David did, He promises to be with you and help you. Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Let Him share your burdens and reveal His purpose for you. Turn to Him today. Prayer and praise acknowledges that Jesus Christ is your Lord, Savior and Provider. Many of us live a life full of prideful self reliance and stubbornness and never receive anything from the Lord. When you call out and come to the Lord Jesus Christ with a need, you are glorifying Him and lifting up His name to all the earth. He will pour out His power, peace, love upon you and answer your needs! Enter into Intercession to receive your help. Enter into PrayerFather, I come to You now in the Name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father, I pray with thanksgiving! I ask You to give me divine healing now in every area of my life, spirit, mind, will, emotions and physical being in accordance with Your Divine Plan and Order for my life. I receive Your Divine Healing, Wholeness and Newness of life, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Lord, I ask You to expand in me Your territories. Lord I ask for and receive beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness: for I am a tree of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that You may be glorified, in Jesus’ Name. My prayer Lord, is that your Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Heavenly Father, I ask you to give me the manifestation of every miracle and every healing You have for me and the manifestation of divine healing and divine health in my body. I will commit to earnestly remember You the Lord my God, for it is You who gives me the power to get wealth, that I may establish Your covenant which You swore to my forefathers. (Duet. 8:18) Your word says that a good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children and the wealth of the sinner finds its way into the hands of the righteous for whom it was laid up. (Prov. 13:22). I know that wealth and provision is in my hand and I know that you are my God and you will liberally supply (fill to the fullest) my every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:19). For You said that you would prosper me and that I would be in good health even as my souls prosper. (3 John 2) For You Lord God are a sun and shield; and you bestow present grace and favor and future glory, honor, splendor and heavenly bliss! No good thing will you withhold from me if I walk uprightly according to Psalm 84:11 and I commit to being obedient and walking upright to your Word.

7/22/2014 0 Comments Peace in the Midst of His Will![]() Can you be in God's will and be miserable? Well, yes. But you can also be in tremendous peace. For people who are saying, "I'm in a tough situation right now because I believe it's where God wants me, but I'm miserable, frustrated and unhappy," there's good news. When God asks us to stay in a difficult situation, He provides a special grace for us to get through it. It's the kind of grace that leads others to look at us and think: Wow! I can't believe they're dealing with this and still have such peace! That's faith! When we say things like, "I just don't think I can make it," we're essentially giving up, when we could just as easily trust God to help and sustain us. I have been in difficult situations that I know were God's will for my life, and I wanted to react in my flesh to remove myself from the most uncomfortable situations. But in those uncomfortable situations is where I grew and matured in my faith. What learned, and it was the most valuable lesson, was that when you stop fighting the Will that's when you will feel the mot fulfilled. If you are anxious, tense, or concerned about anything in your life, begin now to relax, let go, and let God fill your need. Learning to trust God for His grace on a daily basis will help you keep your thoughts and words in line with His Word. No matter what seems to be missing from your life—be it a much-loved person, a special place, an activity of great value, or a feeling of well-being—know that when you pray God's light and substance and divine activity will move in and through you. God's creative process is awaiting your acceptance of its productive, healing action. Let your thoughts be lifted up. Let the presence of God dissolve your fears and doubts and remove every unbelief. God's love and goodness will always fill every need in your circumstances, every hunger of your heart, every longing of your soul for peace and assurance, and every good desire for your well-being. Although it may now seem you are separated from that which has been your greatest avenue of comfort, security, or supply, remember: God is always there to help you. No matter how great the gulf seems between you and the solution to your deepest desire, you can call on Jehovah-Shammah as He is always there. Begin now to relax from the strain and effort of questioning, planning, and reasoning. Take a few moments today to ask God: I need your help to let this go so that you, God, can fill my need. Your prayers will be more effective, and your understanding of the presence of God within you will be clearer. When you ask our Lord God to help you know that He will never desert you or forsake you. Enter into PrayerI am thankful for this day; for this is the day that You have made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. I am thankful for the Blood of Jesus, knowing it cleanses us from all unrighteousness and allows us to come boldly to the throne of grace according to Hebrews 4:16. We are not moved by what we see, hear, smell, touch or taste. We are not moved by reason. We are only moved by Your Spirit and Your Word and we know Your Voice, and we hear Your Voice and we refuse to follow strangers according to John 10:27. Our seed is mighty upon the earth according to Psalms 112:2. Lord Jesus, I ask you to expand my territories; to fill me and increase me in the Holy Spirit and anointing with power. I ask You to lead me in paths of righteousness for Your Name’s Sake. I Bless You, Praise You, Worship You, and commit all that I am to You, that Your perfect will be done through me. I ask that You help me to cease from my own labors. I do so by faith. I ask that You cause me to enter Your Rest now, in Jesus’ Name and I receive that. I ask You to release my warring and ministering angels to minister and war on my behalf. 7/16/2014 0 Comments Life Hurts. Time Passes. He Heals. Many people will quote during time of loss that, "Time heals all wounds.” If I had a dollar for every time someone has said that to me over the past several years, I’d have racks of bills in front of me. In the past 10 years, I’ve faced loss on so many levels, the lost of six members of my family, relationships and friendships as well as jobs.Through clouds of disbelief and sorrow, I watched my love ones pass on. With each loss, well-meaning people offered cliches such as the one mentioned above. Brace yourself, as I’m going to say something that may shock many of you. Time does not heal. The passage of days does not guarantee comfort or healing. The emotional wounds caused by loss will not dissipate on their own. But don’t despair. There is hope in the midst of mourning. If there is one thing I have learned during this season in my life it is this: God heals all wounds. According to Matthew 5:4, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Notice it says will, not might or could or ought or any other vague remark. God will comfort those of us whose hearts are breaking over the loss of a loved one. On those days when I feel the overwhelming crush of grief and despair, I can cling to this assurance from my Heavenly Father. Yes, loss is overwhelming, scary, and life changing. But God has said in His word, that He will soothe our pain-filled hearts. Open yourself to God. He loves you and promises to do what no amount of time can ever accomplish: the restoration of a wounded, grieving soul. If you are experiencing grief over the loss of someone in your life, pray this prayer to ask our Heavenly Father to "heal what time can't heal". Enter Into PrayerPlease help me in this time of loss of my loved one. I seem to be frozen with this overwhelming grief. I don't understand why my life is filled with this pain and heartache. But I turn my eyes to you as I seek to find the strength to trust in your faithfulness. You, Lord are a God of comfort and love and I ask You to help me to patiently wait on you and not despair; I will quietly wait for your salvation. My heart is crushed, but I know that you will not abandon me. Please show me your compassion, Lord. Help me through the pain so that I will hope in you again. I believe the promise in your Word to send me fresh mercy each day. Though 1 can't see past today, I trust your love will never fail me. 7/9/2014 0 Comments Be Thankful! It is very important that we are thankful to the Lord for the many blessings that He bestows upon our life. Many times we are quick to forget the good things that God has given us and tend to think more about the trouble and heartache that life sometimes brings. When we say, "Thanks" what do we mean by it? Well, it is an expression of appreciation, isn't it? Shouldn't we appreciate God? Shouldn't we tell Him so? Saying, "Thanks," is making known that person's value to you. You do not thank people who are not valuable to you. Saying "Thanks," is gratitude, told to another dear to you, usually. Why not God? Isn't He the dearest of all? The Bible reminds us that ungodly people do not give thanks unto God. This is a characteristic of the ungodly. In Romans 1:21 we read, "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened." And they went progressively down, until they worshipped idols, became fools, worshipped animals and beasts, and, God finally gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts. That is a tragic thing. Why? Because they did not honor God as God and they were not thankful. It is characteristic of the ungodly that they never say to God, "Thank You for all that You are to me, for giving me life and all the good things that are in life." Ungodly people do not glorify Him as God, neither are they thankful. But godly people do give thanks to God. They are thankful, according to God's Word. It is the will of God in Christ Jesus is to give thanks to God in everything, every believer should know why we should give thanks and be grateful all the time. Gratitude is a feeling of thankfulness and appreciation of everything the Almighty God is doing in our daily life. It is an act that allows what we desire to flow into our experience. Make saying thank you to your higher power an integral part of your day – many find that the daily practice of counting your blessings pays dividends and brings great rewards. Enter into IntercessionDear Father God, 7/1/2014 0 Comments Pick Up Your Sword![]() The soul of the Believer is of principal interest to satan. He will use thoughts and arguments to distract us from our faith. But we have a weapon that we seldom use but is very powerful. "And the sword of the spirit which is the word of God" ~ Ephesians 6:17 A sword is an unmistakable weapon of offense. No doubt that it can also be used as a tool for defense. This however is no ordinary sword. This sword is made of the Spirit and the Word. In spiritual warfare the battles are fought with words. Words packed and backed up with the Spirit of God. And God's Word is truth, plain and simple. We can have perfect confidence in the fact that His words are accurate, true and unerring. When followed, they guide us without fail in the paths that we need to walk and will win the battles we need to win. There is no enemy the Word of God, coupled with His Spirit, cannot defeat. And so, armed only with our sword, we step out to fight our enemies head-on. The struggle is real. It is immediate, and it is in front of us. Our future in God's Kingdom is on the line, and we take up the battle so that we may hold fast to the future He has promised us. We fight knowing the end of the story and stand on one of the many powerful and sure promises in God's Word tell us: But he who endures to the end shall be saved. ~Matthew 24:13 What a powerful and sure promise in God's Word, it tell us that if we remain dedicated to God and His Word, we will make it to the end, and we will be saved. There is no doubt in this statement. So take up your sword. The battle is ours. Intercessory Prayer Heavenly Father, I now put in each of our hands the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, which we choose to use against all forces of evil. I declare that we defeat the enemy with the Word of God as the Spirit of God leads us according to Revelation 19:11-16. I put away murmuring, complaining, condemning and criticizing from each of us. I thank You that You are OUR AUTHORITY, JESUS and THE LORD OF HOSTS, JEHOVAH SABBOATH. I now take the Sword of the Spirit and use the authority that God has ordained me with according to Luke 9:1, for we have been given power and authority over all the devils and demons, to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy according to Luke 10:19. |
IntercessionPrayer is the expression of man’s dependence upon God and his confidence in Him. When God answers prayer, He magnifies His faithfulness. Prayer is releasing the energies of God and asking God to do what we cannot do. Prayer is the breathing and panting of the Spirit after God. Prayer is a soul struggle.
