Expect Your Harvest

Picture

I Corinthians 9:10 says "…he that plows ought to be plowing in expectation; and he that threshes should be partaker of his expectation."

Imagine a farmer with his plow, and hour after hour he is plowing in the field. He is doing this work in expectation that there will be a harvest. If he was convinced that those seeds would not grow, do you think he would take the time to go out and plow, perhaps just so that the other farmers could see that he knew how to plow? No, he would not waste his time. But if he believes that the seeds will grow, he plows in expectation; he plows with the distinct understanding that this is the necessary and logical thing to do, because there is going to be a harvest.

The farmer in I Corinthians 9:10 who was plowing his field, putting all he knew into, was not just hoping, wishing and praying, he was really expecting a harvest. But the action most of us take  between the moment of believing and the manifestation of the answer, is not to express our expectation but to make preparation for the non-arrival of the answer. It seems as if they mostly spend their time as if the answer was not coming. Even people who say they are walking on the Word, when they have a need, seem to spend as much time, if not more time, trying to find some way around the problem as if the answer is not coming, than they do in an attitude of expectation.

The most important key in the period between believing and manifesting the harvest, is where you are in your "expectation". Are we really expecting God to supply that particular need? Yes, we do. We expect it the moment we first believe, yes, that day and maybe a day or two after, but if there is any length of time between the believing and the manifestation we stop the attitude of expectancy and we get into a hope situation. We hope, wish and start worrying if it will ever happen.  We're no longer expecting it, and the enemy has tricked us on that one little point. There is thin line between expectation and hope, but it is there that the enemy gives us a nudge over from the side of expectation into hope, because he knows that by so doing he can hinder us. You must be on your guard all the time and keep your mind geared to the fact that you are standing on the greatness of God's Word and you can expect Him to do what He said He will do.

So, how do we show our expectation?  Hebrews 10:23 says,

"Let us hold fast the confession of our expectation without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised)."

You are encouraged to hold fast the confession of your expectation "without wavering". We must, "hold fast the confession of our expectation without wavering".  Your expectation will show itself by your words and by your actions; your talk and your walk. Whatever I am expecting will come out in my confession. If I am expecting the worst to happen, sooner or later I am going to begin to confess it. If I am expecting to be bankrupt and in foreclosure by the end of the year, sooner or later my conversation is going to come out that I am almost broke and homeless.  But if I am expecting the very best, sooner or later it is going to come out in my conversation that my greater is here. But we waver, suddenly, when we're flooded with bills, contracts are slow coming in or sales are low this month? The wavering occurs when you take your eyes off the Word and get them on people and circumstances around you. But as long as you know you are poised and balanced in Christ, standing sometimes on your tiptoe in expectation and but yet firmly balanced on the Word, there is no need room to waver. It is when you are not convinced that you start wavering. God encourages you to "hold fast", not to just save face, but "hold fast to the confession of your expectation without wavering." And why should you hold fast to it? "For he is faithful that promised." It is God that promised it, and when God promises something, it is guaranteed.

Now you must say what the Word says, not what the circumstances seem to say, not what the economy says, not even what your wife or husband, your best friends, or your neighbors say. This is one vital way in which you demonstrate the fact that you are expecting results. When you really believe it, then your expectation will come into manifestation as Hebrews 11:1 says: "Now belief is the assumption of things expected, the exposing of things not seen." Believing is knowing that it is truth and expecting it to become fact in the future. Believing is the key to receiving. There will be no receiving a harvest without believing; there will be no results without believing. Expectation is the key to believing and this is shown by confession.

Enter into Intercession Tuesday to affirm  and confess your harvest.
Heavenly Father remove from me any wrong thoughts, fear, doubt, unbelief, believing any lies of the enemy, any thoughts that I have that are hindering me now in coming to You. I ask You, Father God, to deliver me now of all hindrances that will prevent me from living in expectation in Jesus Christ’s Holy Name. I resist the devil and all his demonic spirits must flee and leave my presence. Lord God, remove the lies and the hindrances and help me so I can say this prayer of expectancy in earnest from my heart! I ask You to force out, drive out, and bind all evil things far away from me that would hinder my atmosphere of faith.

Lord, teach me how to pray with an attitude of expectancy and to expect your best. Guard me from the fear and doubt that would hinder me from receiving an answer. In times of waiting, give me a fervent expectation that will sustain me with Your peace and joy. Your Word says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." (Jermiah 29:11) I expect your will for my life.

I expect that we have won the Victory!
I expect  God has sent His Word and it will not return void.
I expect  that God has finally anointed us to do His will.
I expect  that God has given us Divine healing and Divine Life.
I expect the Victory that Jesus has won the Victory for us on the cross.
God's Favor and Blessings are on me and my family today.
I expect God's Mercy and Grace on me today.
I expect God's Favor on me today.
I expect God to give me a long life.
I declare that God is going to give me supernatural increase.
I will live and not die, but declare the Works of the Lord
I declare that God's Favor is on me, that He has given me His Strength, Wisdom, Blessings, and Peace .
I expect God's blessings in my life today.
I believe God has given me His Abundant Life.

I put my complete belief, trust and expectancy in Your Word. Thank You in advance for my bountiful harvest of answered prayer will bless many, and glorify You! In Jesus Matchless Name, Amen!

    Intercession

Prayer is the expression of man’s dependence upon God and his confidence in Him. When God answers prayer, He magnifies His faithfulness. Prayer is releasing the energies of God and asking God to do what we cannot do. Prayer is the breathing and panting of the Spirit after God. Prayer is a soul struggle. It is the hardest work God has given His children, but it is their most important work.

    Each Tuesday in
The Sanctuary we set aside time for intercession. We pray that you are able to gain strength and comfort from our time of Intercession.
