He is Your Shepherd…So Rest

One of the major commitments of The Sanctuary, is to provide the tools to break the chains over our lives that will hinder us from walking in the abundance and fullness that God promised us in His Word. Many of us can attribute that the hinderances and barriers we face in life are due to finances. As of January 2015, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks or more) was at 2.8 million.  Even those with steady jobs have found that our buying power has diminished.  Some of us have not had a wage adjustment since 2007. These are rough days, and many families are struggling. Economists predict that even as the current recession eases, there is a possibility that chronic job loss will continue for months and even years. So, it’s not a stretch to say that every person is somehow affected by the current economic uneasiness, either directly or through someone close.  What do we do? 

One answer: we can pray, we can say God's words to Him.

God does care about our provision. “The God who provides” is actually one of the Old Testament names for God.  Giving is his nature.  He has created us, and promises to supply all of our needs.  In Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount he promises that God, our Father knows our practical need for food and shelter and security even before we ask. And when we do He willingly answers.  God is close to us at our point of most pressing need. We never have to worry!

It’s a real and tangible concern for almost all of us. So let’s put these promises to work. Today in our Intercession we will be praying a Word of provision prayer.

Enter into Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I come to You now in the Name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit I ask You to quicken me and lead me in prayer. Your word says you are Jehovah Raah, the Lord my Shepherd, I shall not want and I call upon the one they call the Good Shepherd, Protector and Provider. I am your sheep and provision is the job of the Shepherd.  Lord I need some financial mercies today, so I bring these promises back to you and ask that you honor your Word. I know that you are not a man that you should lie, neither the son of man that you should repent. Therefore, I ask You to bless me when I come in. I ask You to bless me when I go out. I ask You to bless me in the city. I ask You to bless me in the country. I ask You to bless my fruits. I ask You to bless my seed. I ask You to bless our land. I ask You to bless my store house. I ask You to bless and prosper everything I touch. And Father you said in your Word that you will liberally supply (fill to the fullest) my every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. You said that your desire is for me to prosper and be in good health even as my soul prosper. I declare and decree on this day, that God's  blessings rest upon me.  I am well-favored and more than able to receive His abundant provision. 

I trust that in where you lead you shall provide. May God's angels accompany me on my right hand and on my left. They shall guide me!  I will eat the fruit of Your promises in the land of the living and will enjoy long life and length of days because I wholly trust in You Lord God. My home shall be a place where I will rest in His love, find hope for tomorrow, and joy shall strengthen me as I rest upon your bed.  I ask You to cause my enemies to come in one direction but to flee in seven directions because greater are You who is in me  than he that is in the world. In my prayer time the Holy Spirit shall birth a creative and powerful mind and give me sound ideas that will bring me promotion, great favor and provision. He shall give me a fresh anointing and bless the work of my hands.  Lord Jesus, I ask You to prevent my mind from deceiving me in any way that my deliverance, provision and breakthrough is not here. Heavenly Father, I ask You to cleanse my mind, with the Blood of the Lord Christ Jesus, of all thoughts and preconceived ideas that do not conform to Your will and destiny for my life and the provision you have planned for me. And I totally commit to being a good steward of all the resources and provisions that you have blessed me to have. Great is your faithfulness. I sit in expectation waiting for my breakthrough provision. I bless you in Jesus' Name! To God be the Glory, according to Your Will, Amen!
