3/19/2015 0 Comments Spring Forward!Transition is sometimes tough and unavoidable. This principle of transition is built into all God’s creation. Summer turns into fall, fall rolls into winter, out of winter emerges spring which produces summer. Every new season provides a wonderful new opportunity for fresh anointing and new beginnings and I know this spring I am springing into a new dominion! I have so much anticipation as we prepare to transition into this month of April. Yes, my birthday is in April, but the atmosphere of expectancy that I have fluttering in my tummy is less about my birthday, and more about the miracles, favor and provisions have manifested and will manifest in this season. A miracle is God’s intervention of grace in a person’s life. Expectation is birthed out of hope; and a definition of hope is: a joyful anticipation that something amazing is about to happen. I am not just referring to this transition in the natural but in the spirit as well. And if your spiritual winter has been anything like mine, you have been tried in bitter cold of this winter and your soul has been longing for the transition to the warmth and beauty that is birthed from spring. But you see, those trials showed your faith is genuine. When your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. (1 Peter 1:7) The life of Christ was clearly marked by moments in time which transitioned Him from one season to another. These moments allowed Him to assess and close the previous season which, in turn, opened the door for Him to move forward into the new season which lay ahead. And if you have been attending our Friday Fellowship & Bible Study you know that the body of Christ is moving into a "New Year" according to our God's calendar in April. (Exodus 12) And in this season God is calling each of us out of the harshness and cold of the winter, and requiring us to align ourselves with His spiritual calendar so that we can spring into the dreams, callings and purpose for not just us but for our families. Your season of destiny means that you are making a difference right where you are now. Look around and see where you’re planted at this time in your life. Its time to gird up with faith and a knowing in your heart to understand that God indeed has a plan and purpose for your life. The Body of Christ is in a whole new beginning; behold old things have past away and all things are new. And all of this is because our Abba Father loved us individually so much that He sent His Son Jesus to the cross for us. In this beautiful new season, God’s richest blessings will be our portion with a brand new beginning and purpose-filled destiny like no other. Our Father has opened doors and now He is allowing our dreams and purposes to become a reality as we abandon the season of the past, advancing and moving forward into our Kingdom purposes! 3/10/2015 0 Comments I Am Listening and I Will Do!Sometimes we get so busy trying to live purposeful and meaningful lives that we are missing the call and instructions as to how to live this destiny filled life many of us seek. Today, on this Worship Wednesday, we will discover that "worship" is an effective tool to listen and tune into the voice of our loving Father. 1 Samuel 3 gives us an account of how the Lord calls Samuel several times and he was confused and thought it was the High Priest Eli calling him, but it was the Lord. It reads as follows, "The boy Samuel ministered before the Lord under Eli. In those days the word of the Lord was rare; there were not many visions. One night Eli, whose eyes were becoming so weak that he could barely see, was lying down in his usual place. The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was. Then the Lord called Samuel. Samuel answered, "Here I am." And he ran to Eli and said, "Here I am; you called me." But Eli said, "I did not call; go back and lie down." So he went and lay down. Again the Lord called, "Samuel!" And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, "Here I am; you called me." "My son," Eli said, "I did not call; go back and lie down." Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord: The word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him. The Lord called Samuel a third time, and Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, "Here I am; you called me." Then Eli realized that the Lord was calling the boy. So Eli told Samuel, "Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, 'Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.' " So Samuel went and lay down in his place. The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, "Samuel! Samuel!" Then Samuel said, "Speak, for your servant is listening." Notice the bible says, “Speak Lord, for your servant is listening…not listen Lord for your servant is speaking.” Is it possible to be always in the temple, spending our lives in the church…and yet miss listening to the voice of God. Is it possible that God is trying to speak to us and we’re just not sure if it is Him as Samuel? Listening to the voice of God is the most active, most participatory part of any believer. Listening doesn’t always mean quietness, but is always requires being attentive. And our senses during worship are more drawn to spiritual things. In the midst of a powerful song, God may speak to you about something in your life. In the midst of a worship, your mind may be drawn to something the Spirit is trying to speak to you. Go with in and be like Samuel and tell Him you're listening. Listening is not about the song, but an encounter with God and tuning in to the Spirit. I would say that worship involves us listening to God and then responding back to God. Its like making music. Today, in your worship ask God to speak to you and be an active participant in the conversation. Whatever He says to you, make the declaration "Speak, Your Servant Is Listening". Enter into Worship"Death and life are in the power of the tongue. And those who love it will eat its fruit." This passage of scripture has been constantly drilled into my Spirit by my Spiritual Life Coach, Eddie Sheffield. Why? Because I was one of those people that was not mindful of the power of my words. How many of us are guilty of allowing our thoughts become words that bring fear, defeat, destruction and death into the lives of others and our own. This tongue is little, but its power and influence for good or bad are out of proportion to its size. The words people say wield great power. God takes notice of every word we say, even that which we ourselves do not notice. A person’s life largely reflects the fruit of his tongue. The solution for the problem of controlling our tongues is to seek divine wisdom. To speak life is to speak God’s perspective on any issue of life; to speak death is to declare life’s negatives, to declare defeat, or complain constantly. A man may do a great deal of good, or a great deal of hurt, both to others and to himself, according to the use he makes of his tongue. Words have a weighty influence on our eternal destiny. Are we speaking God's words of life into our loves ones, into our marriages, into our ministries, into our coworkers, into our neighbors, into strangers we meet daily, into the dry, deserted places in our lives or are we speaking DEATH? As long as we are thinking or speaking negatively of anything or anybody, we do not have His mind, nor His heart. We die each time we utter ill words, they cause us to abide in death. To walk in His life, we must have His fullness, His heart and His mind. There cannot be any negative thoughts or words spoken, because they will result in death. Today on this Worship Wednesday began to speak God's word of life into your destiny, into the dry dormant places, into those relationships, into your finances, into your mind and thoughts. As you are worshiping today, ask the Holy Spirit to help you recognize the power of your tongue, to help you to be conscious of what you say, to help you to remember that you have the power to speak life intolife into those dry bones so that they live again. Ask Him to make your mouth “a fountain of life” to "Speak Life". |
What is Worship?
The Apostle Paul described true worship perfectly in Romans 12:1:
“I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God which is your spiritual service of worship." Worship is first of all an experience. It may express itself through certain forms, but it is not primarily a form. It is an experience. It is a consciousness of the presence of God and a response to that consciousness. Worship expresses itself as an outreach of the deepest emotions of the soul in adoration, reverence, homage, exaltation, and praise to the Almighty. We hope that our Worship Wednesday creates a deeper more meaningful worship experience for you. Visit our other inspirational blog
