Today, I will not be able to really do a blog for Worship Wednesday as I am preparing for the Making WAVES encounter this weekend. But I must take a moment to say that this weekend will be like none other. We have a group of dynamic women convening on a lake front home to not just relax, fellowship and network but we are convening with like minds with an expectation that the waters have been stirred and that when we step into that water, there will be WAVES of healing taking place. Chains of bondage will be broken, strongholds will be torn down, spiritual gifts will manifest, financial situations will turn around, marriages will be restored, family dynamics will strengthen, children will be saved and lives will be forever changed! I know that God is going to perform supernatural miracles the moment we cross the threshold. And what takes place this weekend will have a ripple effect and it will touch the lives of those around us. Therefore, on this Worship Wednesday, we are taken a moment to praise Him in advance the "HEALING" that is about to take place! Enter into The Sanctuary to receive your healing.

4/17/2013 0 Comments There will be glory…After This!As I mentioned in our Friday Fellowship Meeting and the call we had for our Making WAVES Retreat this past week, I have been under heavy attack in trying to bring the vision of God's to pass for The Sanctuary. I’ve been going through a challenge and I’m trusting God for deliverance in it. As I was going through a major attack God sent some people to encourage and undergird me. And I remember one of them saying, "It is going to take some effort and determination, but God is going turn this around and He will get the glory out of this." And I needed to hear this, we all need to hear that sometimes! It isn't too late and the situation will turn around! Maybe you are in a very difficult marriage. I want to tell you, it can turn around! Maybe your finances stink. You need to know it can turn around! Maybe you have made some major mistakes that are hindering your future. It can turn around! Jonah was a man who needed his life turned around. In Jonah chapter 1, God directed Jonah to a mission, but Jonah declined and rejected God's direction. The great difficulty of a violent storm arose in his life as a result of his rejection, and then God rescued the drowning Jonah through the help of a huge fish. The rescue came about when Jonah decided to make a change in his life. God became real as Jonah experienced "a person" behind the truth. Jonah chapter 2 occurs inside the fish. In verse 1, a summarization of how Jonah turned it around is given: "In my distress I called to the LORD and He answered me." In this summary, we have three steps to a turn-around. First of all, Jonah says, "In my distress..." Step 1: Jonah processes his distress. He gives an honest appraisal about the distressful situation that he is in. Distress, of course, is extreme anxiety, sorrow and pain. Part of the fear Jonah is experiencing is a result of "the powerful sea." After Jonah is thrown overboard by the sailors, the waves from the violent storm are breaking over him. He is engulfed by waters that are slowly bringing him down. The grip of seaweed is wrapped around his head. Jonah thought it was all over -- his grave was a watery one. In Jonah 2:1, he says, "From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help." As Jonah is processing his distress, he comes to a startling conclusion; "you hurled me" and "I have been banished from your sight". Jonah is admitting that he has violated the LORD and his way. This is a "self-indictment" as he begins to understand where his sufferings have come from. We need to be careful, because processing our distress can lead us to the blame game. Jonah, however, was led to a point of taking responsibility for what he had done to contribute to his own situation. For a time, trouble can shut out any hope. But faith was revived when, in his distress, Jonah "remembered the Lord." Step 2: Jonah cried out to the LORD. This theme of pleading to the Lord for help is repeated and emphasized several times in the chapter. It is a very personal interaction as, in Jonah 2:1, "From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the LORD his God." Now here is an important question -- does the Lord show up because Jonah prays? Because Jonah finally realizes he needs help? Does God show up as a response to Jonah's good deed of calling out? No, and here is where we learn something foundational about the Lord, and it is this -- the LORD is always there. We just need to turn to him to enjoy the benefits of his compassion and love. In the same way that an inheritance is distributed through the willful acceptance of the treasure, God's love must be received. Jonah cried out to God and received his love. Then Jonah says in Jonah 2:6, "You brought me life from the pit, O Lord my God." Step 3: Jonah waited for and expected God's intervention. God's intervention was the provision of a huge fish to save him from drowning. Maybe not the most glamorous way to be saved, but Jonah articulates in Jonah 2:9, "Salvation comes from the Lord." We may feel banished from God's sight but we are one call away, and therefore, very close to God's rescue. How can you turn it around? Process your distress. What do you own in the existence of challenges in your life? Give an honest appraisal. Then cry out to the Lord. Turn yourself completely to the Lord and his love and truth. Lastly, wait and expect God's intervention. I know that in just a few days I am expecting God to turn it all around and there will surely be glory after this. And I want to encourage you that whatever your situation is, whether you lost your job, lost a loved one, going through a painful divorce or diagnosed with a life threatening disease, do not loose faith! There is always light at the end of the tunnel, just as there is calm after the storm. The God who delivered Jonah is still the same God yesterday, today and forever! You can take comfort knowing that He will never forsake you or leave you! The bible is full of God's promises, those are His words. Because His words are true and gives life we can use His words to get out of any situation. This lens is about learning how to claim God's promises in the midst of the storm. To pray God's words through a time of crises and coming out victorious! This lens is for all of you who are facing the storms of life to know that there will be a testimony of victory and glory "After this"! Enter into The Sanctuary to praise Him for your "After This"! ![]() "No weapon formed against you shall prosper…."Isaiah 54:17 The truth is, the verse is written with the assumption that if you are walking in the will of God, that there WILL be weapons formed against you. You will fight obstacles. You will have to overcome darkness. Today, my husband and I experienced I know the second worst and darkest day of my life. The first, is the day my father passed away. Today, was surely the second. So that should indicate what kind of day this was. We were faced with a challenge that required us to spend an enormous amount of money to resolve an issue and the timing couldn't have been any worse as we have our "Making WAVES Retreat" two weeks away. We just don’t have extra money laying around. In the middle of this most life challenging situation I received an email with the scripture Isaiah 54:7, and it hit me. And I smiled. See, if we had nothing happening The Sanctuary right now, it wouldn’t make sense. But, we’re in the middle of an incredible wave of spiritual momentum. The Sanctuary is touching lives and the participants of the Retreat are coming with an expectation and level of spiritual excitement that is sending massive WAVES in the heavens. It’s not coincidental. You will only face opposition if you’re heading in the opposite direction of the enemy. If you’re not a threat, you’re not a target. So, what do you do when attacked?
So I’m not worried about our Retreat– God will provide. I’m not worried about money – God will provide. I’m thankful for God’s perspective on this issue. It just means that we’re in store for the greatest moments in the history of The Sanctuary! We’ve been taught that “when it rains, it pours.” We’ve been taught to expect the worst and to often lay down and take it when the enemy attacks. We’ve been taught to turn and run when darkness comes and to look away when injustice strikes. But when will we believe God and stand up? When will we say like those Hebrew young men to King Nebuchadnezzar after he threatened to have them burned alive, “…we don’t need to defend ourselves. The God we worship can save us from you and your flaming furnace. But even if he doesn’t, we still won’t worship your gods and the gold statue you have set up.” (Daniel 3:16-18). When we say, “Whether God delivers only my soul or both soul and body… I will believe that "No Weapon Formed Against Me Shall Prosper"! 4/3/2013 0 Comments The Name Above All Names!![]() When we’re wading through life’s rough waters, navigating rocky roads, and climbing steep mountains, we can feel ill-equipped to handle all life throws our way. But there is One who is able to challenge our challenges and help us triumph over them. His name is Jesus. Trusting in the authority of Christ, calling on His name, and standing on God’s word in our time of need are all necessary steps toward receiving the help and deliverance we so desperately desire. If you're struggling at this moment and need a reminder of just how powerful the Lord is, I find that there is no greater resource than the word of God to teach us that there is power in the name of Jesus. Do you remember the lame beggar in Acts 3? Well, he had been that way from birth. But when Peter commanded him in the name of Jesus to get up, something shifted in the earth. Even though he had been that way for so long, in Acts 3:16, SOMETHING HAPPENED. Peter said, “By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong.” The Holy Name of Jesus is, first of all, an all-powerful prayer. Our Lord Himself solemnly promises that whatever we ask the Father in His Name we shall receive. God never fails to keep His word. When, therefore, we speak Jesus name, "Jesus," let us ask God for all we need with absolute confidence of being heard. For this reason, when we end our prayer with the words, "through Jesus Christ," give our prayers a new and Divine ability. But the Holy Name is something still greater. Each time we say, "Jesus," we give God infinite joy and glory. Each time we say "Jesus," we gain power and strength. Each time we speak "Jesus," it is an act of perfect love and confidence. There is something powerful about that name—Jesus. Whenever you are going through a difficult time, call on Jesus. In the midst of your storm, when the red sea is in front of you and pharaoh’s army is behind you, call on Jesus. If you do not feel well in your body and need a miracle, cry out Jesus. When you are going through challenges and you do not feel like praying, call on Jesus. When you call on Jesus, your circumstance changes, when you cry out Jesus, demons tremble. The Holy Name of Jesus saves us from innumerable evils and delivers us especially from the power of the adversary, who is constantly seeking to do us harm. The Holy Name of Jesus gradually fills our souls with a peace and joy we never had before. Do you need a miracle? Are you going through something and need extra help from God? Do you feel lost, confused, and depressed? I challenge you to call on Jesus. When you call on Jesus, your situation and circumstance will change. When you know the God that you serve, you have no reason to be afraid of anything or anyone. He is the First and Last, the Beginning and the End. He always was, He always is, and He always will be unmoved, unchanged, undefeated, and never undone. In fact, He is so great that the world cannot understand him, the armies cannot defeat Him, the schools cannot explain Him, Herod could not kill Him, the leaders cannot ignore Him, and scientist cannot explain Him. When you fall, He lifts you up! When you fail, He forgives; when you are weak, He is strong. His strength perfects our weakness. When you are afraid, He is your encourager. When you are confused, He counsels you. When you stumble and fall, he reaches a hand to lift you up, He keeps you steady. When you are heartbroken, he mends your broken heart. When you are hurt, He is your healer. When you did not have anything to eat, He fed you. When your world was crashing down on you, He was besides you. When you faced problems and went through pain, He comforted you. Moreover, when you face death, He is going to carry you Home. Jesus Christ has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. The next time you are in trouble and need extra help, just call on Jesus and watch something happen as His Name is Above all Names! Jesus Name has the power to shift your position. Today we in invite you to enter into The Sanctuary to worship and call on "The Name Above all Names" and watch "Something Happen"! |
What is Worship?
The Apostle Paul described true worship perfectly in Romans 12:1:
“I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God which is your spiritual service of worship." Worship is first of all an experience. It may express itself through certain forms, but it is not primarily a form. It is an experience. It is a consciousness of the presence of God and a response to that consciousness. Worship expresses itself as an outreach of the deepest emotions of the soul in adoration, reverence, homage, exaltation, and praise to the Almighty. We hope that our Worship Wednesday creates a deeper more meaningful worship experience for you. Visit our other inspirational blog
